There are a ton of shifters out there on the market, for just about every transmission known to man, but often times those shifters are either race oriented and styled, or are just not very nice to drive on a regular basis. That’s where Lokar comes in. With 36 years of experience, building killer hot rod, street rod, and muscle car parts, Lokar knows what they’re doing when it comes to shifters for the street. If you want classic looks, tons of mounting and shifter options, and want something you can install yourself at home, then these shifters just might be the right one for you. I’ve installed plenty of Lokar shifters and other parts over the years and have always found them straight forward, but with cool little touches that make for a nicer user experience.
In the case of the floor shifter that Todd is installing in his C10 Suburban project, one of those little touches is the aluminum plug that comes with the shifter to make adjusting the neutral safety switch operation a breeze. It’s not a major thing, but one of those features that you will appreciate when you are bent over in front of the seat in your ride making this install happen.
Check out the video below, where Todd does the install on his Suburban, and let us know what you think. And if you want to see all of Lokar’s products, including the other brands in their family of products, click the link below.
