Last weekend I loaded the boys into Brutus the wrecker and headed down to Tube Chassis Designz to catch up on the very cool classic Thunderbird build Jon and John are working on. The last time we updated you, the pair had modified the stock Thunderbird frame, installed a Heidt’s front end had started working on the independant rear suspension.
As you’ll see the project has advanced with all the tube work having been completed for the IRS, the arrival of the brand spanky new 412hp Ford “Coyote” five liter engine, and the fact that there is a body hanging above the chassis on the lift. Jon isn’t 100% sure if that will be the actual body installed on the frame, but they are using it as a guide for locating stuff like the motor, etc.
We’ll be continuing with more updates as the build moves on, which will be at a pretty good clip and they’ve been thrashing hard on this one! Scroll down to see the update photos!

It’s like cramming a Hemi in a Thunderbird =P
Speedzter won’t come too for a good couple hours =D
