Wagons Ho! This Promotional Film Features The 1972 Chevelle and Mid-Size Chevy Wagon Line

The 1968-1972 Chevelle remains one of the most popular platforms for those muscle car lovers out there to hot rod. From drag racing to pro touring, we have seen them done in all kinds of styles and all kinds of ways. But why? Why did these cars connect so well and why do they continue to connect so well? We’re guessing because of how they were marketed right out of the box by Chevrolet and the fact that they were performance models at their most well known. Yes, they were also typical transportation but the fact is that the SS396 and later 402 and 454 powered cars were some of the meanest on the street and that’s what most people want when they enter Chevelle dream-land.

This film from the 1972 model year talks about the Chevelle and then the second half concentrates on the station wagon models of the car that are available. It was the end of an era, literally in 1972 as the styling would change in 1973 and it’s one of those love it or hate it things if you are a Chevelle fan. To us, the 1972 cars are handsome but had started to get a little on the porky looking side as opposed to the more taut lines of the 1969 and 1970 models.

The station wagons are all freaking awesome and they are so hard to find these days that it makes us lust for them more to see the haulers in their OG and natural state. Who doesn’t want an early 1970s mid-size wagon with a cool suspension or a big block, LS, worked small block, or other engine in the nose?!

This is a fun watch, especially if you are a fan of that late muscle car era iron.
