Great News: PSI Superchargers Joins Mid-West Drag Racing Series as Official Sponsor

During a season filled with more uncertainty than the last half century of the sport’s history, we love when we see good news coming from the sport of drag racing. In this case our pals over the the Mid-West Drag Racing Series have hooked up with PSI Superchargers in a sponsorship capacity and that’s great. The recent addition of alcohol funny cars with a sizable purse was just the thing that tickled the fancy of the people at PSI and they were all too happy to come on board.

PSI superchargers revolutionized drag racing when company founder Norm Drazy invented and perfected the basic design which is still being improved upon today. These superchargers changed the face of alcohol funny car and dragster racing in the late 1980s and we love the fact that they just keep getting better today. Not simply limited to alcohol funny cars and dragsters, you can find their stuff on some of the hardest core drag racing machines across the sport as well.

This is great news!

PSI Superchargers Joins MWDRS as Official Sponsor

TULSA, OK (July 29, 2020) — The Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Service (MWDRS) is pleased to welcome Tempe, AZ-based PSI Superchargers as its newest official series sponsor.

“We’re thrilled to have an industry leader like PSI Superchargers join us as an official backer,” MWDRS Events Director Ellen Eschenbacher said. “PSI Superchargers have been around for more than 30 years and they’re one of the most respected names in the drag racing world, so they’re an ideal addition to our organization as a high-profile marketing partner.”

PSI specializes in screw-type superchargers, with its 206 D version exclusively used in the Top Alcohol Funny Car ranks, while the 210 C is popular among Pro Mods applications.

“As soon as they announced  the Funny Cars were coming to the Mid-West Series I called (PSI) ownership and said, ‘You know what? These guys are a lot of our customers and I think we need to support it,'” PSI Superchargers Sales Manager Keith Goolsby said. “And without hesitation they were like, ”Yeah, cool, let’s do it.'”

Reigning MWDRS Pro Mod World Champion Aaron Wells uses PSI Superchargers, as does 2018 MWDRS Pro Mod champ Jonas Aleshire and Sean Bellemeur, winner of the inaugural MWDRS Top Alcohol Funny Car race earlier this month at Ferris, TX.

“You know, this is really exciting to be a part of,” Goolsby added. “I get these racers calling me and thanking PSI for getting involved and I know they’re really excited about it, too. It’s a good deal for everyone.”

The Mid-West Drag Racing Series–featuring Pro Modified and Top Alcohol Funny Car–will resume action Aug. 14-15, with a return to World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, near St. Louis. In September the Tulsa-based series will stage a double points event for all classes at 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI, followed by the MWDRS World Finals at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park in October.
