Ford fans, this is your chance to get your mitts on one of the quickest and fastest Ford powered vehicles on planet Earth. Steve Matusek has put his Mustang pro mod operation up for sale. Is he getting out of racing? Oh hell no. In fact, when the PRI show rolls around in a couple of weeks we’re going to be live on the scene of the big announcement of what he will be racing this year and we promise that you are going to dig it. Steve’s car is an NHRA legal pro mod that you have seen on multiple BangShift live broadcasts at races like the Throwdown in T-Town (which Steve and crew won) and the Roush built power plant in the car only has a measly 15 runs on it. The thing still has that “new valve cover smell”. That engine is a 513 ci pro stock style mill that is force fed with a pair of 88mm turbos that are tucked right up by the firewall. The chassis was built by Larry Larson race cars and Larson has been a part of tuning and running the car since it hit the track.

The paint job may look familiar. If you remember correctly, Steve got permission from Tom McEwen to run a “Mongoose” themed scheme on the Mustang. When he showed up at the Gatornationals with that pant job everyone in the place went nutso for the Mustang. The fan response was incredible. First of all the look has great history and second of all it just has a completely awesome look with the stars and old school logos on the doors. Unfortunately, Mattel toys had an issue with this and even though McEwen was up for doing it, they happened to own the rights to the images in question and they sent Steve a cease and desist order. That’s where the Aeromotive Stealth logos came from on the door. Thankfully, that was enough toe satisfy the legal team at the toy company and the rest of the car is unaltered. I saw the car in person at Larry Larson’s shop last summer between races and it is really a show stopper.

Outside of the truck and trailer, this is a 100% turn key racing operation for sale. The car (which is fully capable of going down a track tomorrow) enough spares to take it out on the road and run it hard, and we’re guessing some baseline information from Steve and Larry. In the market for a 100% bad ass pro mod that has a proven winning track record? Steve’s got the car for you! Bleed blue ovals and simply want one of the most powerful Fords ever built? Make it happen.
