After spending one of the better weekends of our gearhead life at Loring, Maine last weekend in the thick of the LSR action, we’re stuck on the idea of having a car to screw around with in the genre. There were scant few LSR machines on RacingJunk, but this neato roadster that’s headed to the sale this year caught our eye.
The main reason wasn’t the body, which is professionally done and appears to be nicely constructed. Instead it was the blown flathead on fuel residing behind the driver’s noggin. We’re not going to venture a guess at terminal velocity, but we will say with certainty that the 304ci, Holley blown and carb’d flathead should sound great with some nitro in the tank.
The car uses a Ford AOD transmission, has no suspension, and packs a 9″ rear end with 2.75 gears in it.The car will be run at Bonneville this year and sold. It appears the seller is gunning for a record or two and then wants to move onto the next project.
You know you want it! You are simply not going to build this car for the $20k asking price.
