RacingJunk Find: A Crazed, Turbocharged, Speed Buggy Autocross Killer (w/Video)

We’ve got go-karts on the brain recently, and there’s a reason, which you’ll find out about next week. That being the case, we went hunting for neat stuff on RacingJunk and found the greatest man-sized go-kart in America. Packing a turbocharged Mitsubishi four banger, and originally set up for drag racing, this little hot rod has been nicknamed, “The Beast” for good reason.

According to the seller, the car has been run at the digs, clocking an ET of 6.84 at 104mph in the eighth mile. There is an assumption that the car would run over 150 in the quarter mile and assuming it has the gear to do it, we think it has a decent shot (although making 40 mph on the top end would require some snot). The motor is advertised as making 335hp and 375 ft/lbs of torque. That’s plenty to make anyone soil their driver’s suit in something that weighs as advertised 1600lbs.

Despite the basic setup being optimized for drag racing the seller claims that the previous owner was often able to fight for FTD (fastest time of day) honors at the local autocrosses he competed in.

Our favorite part is the seller saying that the machine is, “wicked fast”. We believe him!

Check this mother out!
