Recession? Parking Space Sells for 300K in Boston

Boston is easily the worst city in America to drive around. Urban planning didn’t exist when the roads were laid out in the 16 and 1700’s. Add to the face that most of the city has been added on piece meal over the years and you’ve got lots of people and cars with no where to park.

How bad is it? Some one just bought a space in one of the city’s toniest neighborhoods for $300,000. That space belongs to a couple of people trying to sell their condo for $2.5 million. The seller’s name is being kept private.

On a more normal level, if one wants to attend a Red Sox game as we did recently, you can park about 15 minutes away from Fenway for around $20.00, or at some of the lots close to the park for $90.00 per car. Seriously.

Here’s a link to the Boston Globe story about the sale of the big dollar spot.
