The Roadster Shop Is Hitting SEMA With Force. Check Out All These Bitchin Cars They Brought!

When the guys over at the Roadster Shop, builders of some of the sickest hot rods in the country, told me that they were taking over SEMA with cars, cars, and more cars this year, I thought they were joking. They were not, as they have 6 extensively customized vehicles here in the show. We’ve got sneak peek photos and where you can find them in the show, and promise that we’ll get TONS more for you to check out later this week. So far we haven’t seen them all up close and personal, but once we do we’ll make sure to give you all the dirt on each and every one.

The Roadster Shop is located in Mundelein Illinois, in an ultra bitchin car dealership turned hot rod shop. It’s been all redone to be one of the coolest car building facilities we’ve seen, and we’ve seen a lot. In 2013, the Roadster Shop received three Chevrolet Design Awards, a Goodguys Gold Award, and were a finalist for the Mother’s Shine Award. While most companies would be pretty happy with that, and maybe think about a little rest, the Roadster Shop crew figured they should unveil 6 very different cars, while pulling out all the stops as usual, in honor of their 30th year in business.

The list of cars is mainly focused around their core of Pro-Touring 60’s-70’s American muscle cars with a new 2014 Camaro thrown in the mix for good measure, and to prove that new doesn’t scare them either.  Showing their versatility, the Roadster Shop will unveil 6 distinct vehicles all with unique styles ranging from concept car to race car.

“Our team really came together and pulled off the impossible, creating 6 completely unique and drastically different vehicles for this year’s show” said Phil Gerber owner and VP of Sales & Marketing.

Never ones to take the easy route, the team at the Roadster Shop set out to not only make each car unique, but to make each piece on those cars unique.  “We have designed, engineer, hand craft, and/or machined nearly every component on each car” said Jeremy Gerber, owner and VP of Operations.  “Each car has a theme that develops into an individual identity during the build process.  You can see that individuality in every unique piece throughout each car. “

The first is “Hell Fish”: a 1,000 HP twin turbo Hemi ‘Cuda. Part ‘street fighter’, part show car and will be featured in the Autometer Booth #22931.

“The Truth” a 2,000 HP twin turbo 69 Camaro built with exotic super car styling, performance, and HP will be featured in the Atech Motorsports booth # 22531.

“Apex” is a 2014 ZL1 Camaro full of custom fabricated and carbon fiber components to put a new twist on a commonly customized modern muscle car will be featured in the Penske Racing Shocks booth #24917.

“Sliced” A contemporary and extensive re-design applied to the iconic muscle car styling of a 68 Charger powered by a 1,300 HP twin Turbo Viper V10 will be featured in The Enthusiast Network booth #22743.

“MaliciouSS”, a 1964 Malibu SS convertible featured in Baer Brakes booth #22551. MaliciouSS is a showcase of what can be done when modern styling and technology is applied to a vintage canvas.

Last, but certainly not least, is “Rampage”: a 1970 Camaro unlike anything else, which could only be described as a coachbuilt car that blurs the vast line between race car and show car.  Featured in the GoPro booth #20359.

All of these vehicles sit atop a Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis, as the foundation of each build.

Chad/Brian….Most of us can’t afford to build a 2000HP anything. Please spend most of your time showing real world products that will help us build our own cars/trucks. Can’t wait for your coverage, hope it’s as good as Drag Week.

It’ll be interesting to see. Their ’70 Challenger a few years back was drop-dead gorgeous. RoadsterShop builds real nice cars. As to the above comment, hey, sometimes it’s nice to see how the other half live.

They did. The front end looks like a vacuum cleaner. But it is not as ugly as that white 69 Camaro that looks like a ricer raped it.

Seen the Sliced and Hellfish on a closed FB forum.
The over use of grey paint is the first thing I noticed.
Hellfish is waaay too stanced for it’s own good. Makes it look squashed.
Sliced; the interior is clean, but the “wide-body” look makes the clean “wasp” design that is characteristic of the 2nd gen Chargers look like it’s made too many stops at the all-you-can-eat buffet.
    And just too much grey.
