See the BS.com A/Fuel Team in Action This Weekend at Rt 66 Raceway in Chicago, Ill

If you are in the greater Chicagoland area you need to get yourself to Rt. 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois this weekend for the NHRA Rt. 66 Nationals. The BS.com logo’d A/Fuel car of Veale Racing and Brown Motorsports will be thundering the ground and working for a Wally.

Ethan Brown let us know that the team made some test laps last weekend and things looked promising. The tune up was not on kill, but the boys recorded a .970 (yes, that’s nine tenths of a second) 60′ time on a fairly marginal track and the car pulled strong on separate short laps of 660′ and 900′.

This is a good sign as the team suffered some horrific parts breakage at their last outing, a Division 3 contest at Indy. The car sucked a couple of valves and due to the destructive nature of nitro the team found the big ends of the valves jammed all the way up into the ports of the cylinder heads. Parts had to be shipped all over the country for specialty repairs and some late nights were spent getting the car back together.

We’re going to keep you posted all weekend on their qualifying and elimination round efforts.

We wish the boys luck and hope that the new BS.com crew shirts that they’ll be sporting fit well!

Ethan sent along some video of the test session. It’s shot from a little hand held camera so it’s got some shake factor, but listen to 94% nitro making all kinds of good noises and your contempt of the shaking goes away quickly.
