SEMA Scholarship Deadline Coming Soon

SEMA Scholarship Deadline Coming Soon

We got this press release from SEMA today alerting us to the fact that the deadline to enter their scholarship application process is drawing nigh. If you are a student in an automotive discipline you’d be nuts not to apply for some cash.

We didn’t make it past the fourth grade so we’re ineligible, but there’s hope for the rest of you…ok, for some of you.

SEMA Scholarship Application Deadline Quickly Approaches
Unique scholarship program assists college and vocational students, as well as graduates

Diamond Bar, Calif. (March 5, 2009) – The deadline for the 2009 SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund (SMSF) is quickly approaching. All applications are due April 1, 2009, 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time).
For 25 years SMSF has provided financial assistance to students who attend colleges, universities, trade or vocational schools and who are pursuing careers in the automotive aftermarket.  Since the beginning, SMSF had awarded over 700 students more than $1 million in scholarship funds, and Loan Forgiveness Scholarships to any college graduate with outstanding student loans who are currently employed by a SEMA-member company.

In 2008, SEMA awarded scholarships of $1,000 to $4,000 to nearly 100 applicants.
To apply for the 2009 scholarship, applicants must visit www.SEMA.org/scholarships to access the new online application.  The online application process was set up to make the process easier for applicants.
