Shake, Battle, and Roll 3: Watch 1994’s Greatest Compilation Of Monster Truck, Mud Bogging, and Pulling Carnage

Ahhh, yes! Time to take a mid-week trip back to the first half of the 1990s and experience some good old Diamond P video goodness with this, Shake, Battle, and Roll 3. Now if you were a drag racing or stock car racing fan, you got your carnage kicks by watching “…And They Walked Away”. If you were a fan of TNN’s Sunday staple, “Truck and Tractor Power” you got your jollies by watching the Shake, Battle, and Roll series which concentrated on things going wrong for monster trucks, pulling trucks, and mud bogging vehicles. Because these guys covered so many events and because there was such fierce competition, finding footage was never a problem.

Announcer Gary Lee, a familiar voice from many of our childhoods’ is the host and you’ll see the venerable Army Armstrong getting the job done in his roll as the roving reporter that he always was. In an odd twist, I work with Mason Armstrong who is one of the guys that is on the NHRAonFOX crew helping to get drag racing on TV today! How neat is that?

Personal stuff aside, I love this video because to me it represents the pinnacle era of monster truck RACING when it was about being faster, better, and tougher than the other guys. It was not about freestyle or wrecking your stuff on purpose, it was about winning the race and doing it with more skill and horsepower than the other dudes. What’s so funny is that in today’s world we’re so used to seeing these guys wreck their trucks on purpose it makes these unintentional wrecks at the races seem even worse!

Watch this and smile. Familiar names and vehicles fill this video.
