Remember the 1990s, when computer chips for the factory ECUs was all the rage? Remember how fun it was to click the key back and forth just to count how many times the “check engine” light flashed? Miss the days of OBD-1? Yeah, we didn’t think so. Today’s cars are proof that every fear of OBD-II was unfounded…if anything, manufacturers made tuning unbelievably more detail-focused and easier to access! No pre-programmed chips, no college course to remind you on how to mess with an OBD-1 or earlier system. Sounds good, doesn’t it? Well, if you’re a Ford freak, we have fantastic news for you: Holley’s Terminator X system is now ready to go, and we can vouch for how well it works.
The Terminator X system now supports Ford 289-302 Windsor, 351 Windsor, and 460 engines, and even comes in a Fox body Mustang-specific application. An integrated Ford idle air control motor and throttle position sensors, as well as plug-and-play functionality with the TFI Ignition systems are part of the program, as well as support for Ford 4R70W and newer GM 4L60E/4L80E automatic transmissions. Terminator X features real-time fuel learn, high impedance injector drivers, an integrated 1bar MAP sensor, and 4 programmable inputs and outputs. The inputs and outputs are ideal for electric fans, boost control solenoids, progressive nitrous control, and much more. Terminator X comes fully loaded with base maps for common V8 engine combinations to get you out of the garage and on the road/track fast. The 3.5″ touch screen LCD handheld contains an easy to use calibration wizard as well as tuning and gauge display functions. Additionally, Holley EFI’s software suite is included, allowing laptop access for in-depth work.
Now, how do we know that the Terminator X system is good? We saw it in action at Ford Fest with our own eyes. Tim Grillot, the same guy who completely owned the LS Fest burnout contest this year, entered in his Fox Mustang that was running the Terminator X setup. It was a far cry from a methanol-swilling supercharged beast that his Fairmont is, but the Mustang put up an impressive showing just the same, driving into the pit and driving out when done.

I wonder if I am good this year Santa will put one under the tree?
I am looking forward to seeing real world results. I wonder how power will compare on a stockish engine with an A9L?
