RHS LS Block + 20lbs Of Boost + Z06 Corvette + Redline Motorsports Built = 8.30s At 170 MPH With Plates!

When we stopped in at Redline Motorsports in Florida a couple weeks back, the Corvette you see here was in the shop. This is kind of their “house car” where modifications, parts, and pieces are tested and pushed to their absolute limit at the track. The car was up on the lift so we were able to check it out from end to end and the Redline guys have one sledgehammer of a car. Howard Tanner, the brains behind the Redline operation told us that they were hoping to get the car back to their home strip of Palm Beach International Raceway soon and this is video proof that they did. Even cooler is the fact that Tanner told us that they were hoping to run down in the 8.30s and again, this video is proof of success in that department as well.

The fully street legal, full interior, street driven car makes some serious steam and the foundation for all of it is an RHS LS block. The RHS piece is damned strong and lots of the quickest LS powered machines in the country have their engines built with it as their base. The mill in the Corvette measures out to 432ci and uses a pair of 66/64 Precision Turbos to make upwards of 20 psi of boost. The fabrication and plumbing of the turbos was all done in-house by Redline and the work is surgical and bad ass. Those things are tucked into a spot that we’d never even dream of and that’s why they are them and we’re here banging keys.

The transmission in the car is a Redline prepared 4L80E and you can hear it shifting down the track. Tanner and company do lots of automatic swaps for customers who are serious about making huge steam and hustling down the drag strip with their cars. We’e not sure of the race weight of the Corvette but we do know that it is making way more than 1,000hp at the wheels. At 18psi the number is 1,400hp. We’re not sure what it jumps to with a couple additional psi of boost. Out math roughly translates to a “wicked lot”.

Watch this RHS blocked, twin turbo, street legal beast stop the clocks in the 8.30s at more than 170mph at Palm Beach International Raceway!
