Jake is a Slayer fan to the core. And Jake is like the rest of us, plugging away at a job to pay the bills. When he heard that Slayer was going to play The Forum in Inglewood, California, he reviewed his finances and came to the conclusion that the only way that he would be able to afford the tickets was if he sold his 1997 Ford Escort. So he asked a few buddies at work to help him out.
See, Jake is the Production Coordinator for Merit/Andrew, an advertising agency. After his friends figured out just how serious he was about selling the car to see Slayer, they agreed to help him shoot a spoof of the Lincoln ad that stars Matthew McConaughey to help him out, figuring that the $700 that he might make off of the Escort would help pay for a decent night at the concert:
What nobody expected was a friend of the band to actually see the spoof video on YouTube. He liked it so much that he sent the video to Tom Araya, the singer for the band, who made Jake a response video, explaining that he could keep the car and that he would get the tickets and then some:
Slayer hooked Jake up with two tickets for the concert and two VIP passes for his efforts, plus he gets to keep the Escort. We’re not sure if that last point is a plus or not but it does beat walking to the concert!

The car sucks!
Slayer ROCKS!!!
Damn. I should have thought of this before I dropped the coin for my tickets to the show here on 11/30.
Of course my ticket was only $47, I could swing that….
I might be giving my age away but who is Slayer?
Slayer is a thrash metal band that got popular in the 80’s. They are considered one of the “big four” bands of the genre, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax. I’m almost fifty and a fan of the band!
Tom Araya’s pretty laid-back like that, totally within his demeanor to do something like this.
I want to know how they got the aerial shot. Chopper shots aren’t cheap.
Likely a DJI Phantom or any other drone.
Slayer is a class act. Rock on at the concert Jake.
