Will This Supercharged Slant Six Be A Beast Or A Dyno Disappointment? Can An Early 1960’s Inline 6 Make Real Power?

Ah… the leaning tower of power. This is arguably one of the most famous and prolific Mopar powerplants, and yet it was also it’s most anemic. While everyone knows the famed Hemis, and the various high performance wedge combos, they all realize that the Slant Six was Mopar’s live forever and keep the world moving engine. They were used in cars, trucks, vans, busses, forklifts, utility vehicles, delivery trucks, and much more. These things are bulletproof and don’t seem to care much when you abuse them.

But how much power can one make when built right and equipped with a centrifugal supercharger? Let’s find out in the video below.

Video Description:

We took our supercharged Slant Six to the dyno and the results were… interesting. You’ve seen the time-lapse rebuild, but now it’s time to see if this leaning tower of power can really preform. Plus, we’re bringing the original aluminum block slant six along to see what a quick refresh can do for an engine. Nothings ever easy, however, when you’re tuning and breaking in a fresh rebuild.
