Most of us car guys and car girls have the vehicles we love and then there is usually one that is more “acceptable” to the masses, aka our going to town rig. It’s the one you give non car people a ride in. It’s kind of the measure of a car person, because if most of their cars or trucks are going to town rigs, then they aren’t as hardcore as they might think. On the other hand, if you only have one ride that would generally be considered acceptable, and even that one might be considered old to most people, then you are hardcore. Just saying.
Derek is pretty hardcore, as we all know, but in this video he’s sharing some of the love he’s giving to the going to town rig. The Duramax is getting a little tuning love for more power and efficiency, and then the Allison trans is also going to get some service. Check it out and see what you think. If I had a Duramax powered rig, I think this is the kind of tune I’d be tempted to put on it.
Video Description:
This is my personal daily driver. It’s a 2007 GMC LBZ Duramax Truck with 1,308,947 Repeating miles. It’s time to start monitoring the engines performance, add a tune, and do some Transmission maintenance as well. And, of course, we’ll “test on it”.
