Homemade Tools: This Pipe Anvil Will Come In Handy For Lots Of Sheetmetal Projects And Is CHEAP! Make Your Own Trans Tunnels, Driveshaft Tunnels, Rockers, And More!

I love DIY tools. I have a bunch of tools in my toolbox that have been modified or scratch built in order to fulfill a need, or to do a special task. Most of them are small, but when I see a home built tool like this one, I get excited and it reminds me just how many tools I want to make for the new shop. Forming tools, like brakes and rollers and such are very cool, but sometimes expensive. So what if what you really need is a cheap tool you can make yourself? Sometimes this is what really makes sense for folks. Other times you need the fancy version because it will do more than the cheap version, but this is where knowing what you are going to be making, makes sense.

In this video Fitzee takes three lengths of pipe and welds them together to make what he calls a Pipe Anvil. He saw one that Gene Winfield had and decided he needed to make himself one too.  You can call it that, or a sheetmetal bender, or whatever you like. Regardless of what you call it, this simple tool can help you make sheetmetal parts for your next project quickly, smoothly, and cleanly. But don’t take our word for it, just watch the samples that Fitzee makes on this one right here and we guarantee you’ll think of 10 thinks you could make with it if you had one today.
