Mall crawlers make up a huge portion of the Jeep buyers over the last few years, but the ones that want to crawl more than a mall are always looking for bigger and better upgrades. Over the years, tire size preference for those Jeep owners that really want to wheel has gotten bigger and bigger. Bigger tires roll over rocks better, off better ground clearance, and can go through deeper mud easier as well. But they put a lot more strain on all the components in your axles and drivelines. So if you are looking to move beyond a 35-37 inch tall tire, and want to move to the ultimate 40 inchers, you are going to need to make some upgrades.
Lucky for us, our resident off-roading expert Ian Johnson has got that covered and in this video he’s going to show you how to upgrade your stock JK Jeep axles into something that can handle the abuse that a 40 can give it.
