Metal Fabrication Tech: Shaving the Windshield Posts And Filling Holes On The 1931 Model A Roadster Build

The 1931 Model A Roadster that is being built on Make It Kustom is going to be an ultra cool ride, and luckily we’ve been able to watch a ton of the fabrication happening so that we can all be inspired or learn how to do it ourselves. This is the kind of video content that is something special, and we’ll have even more of it coming soon. But why would someone care to shave the windshield posts on a Model A? If you want to mount a custom windshield post, or complete windshield frame then the factory piece is going to have to go and that means some metal shaping is going to be in order. In this case Karl is going to be installing a Duval windshield on this bad boy and that means some shaving and shaping is happening.

This could be a complicated project for some folks, but don’t let it intimidate you because you can do this with the right tools and some patience. Check it out, be inspired, and go build something.

Here is the video description:

On this episode of Make it Kustom, I am shaving the windshield posts to make way for a Duvall windshield as well as gapping the doors and filling some holes in sheet metal.
