Painting Raised Letter Valve Covers Can Be A Pain, But When Done Right The Results Are Worth The Steps Taken

We’ve all owned a set of valve covers or a timing cover or some other automotive part that has raised letters on them. And sometimes they have a different color of paint on those raised letters. The cheaper stuff is usually all just one color though and that’s because it takes effort to create a clean raised letter in a different color than the background. And over the years, I’ve heard of a few different ways to create this effect, but even the easiest ones are going to require a couple of steps to complete.

In the video below from Old Glory Garage you will get a good look at the process, and the results, so that you can start working on your own raised letter parts. What do you think of his process? Do you have a better one?

If you do have another suggestion, please comment with that process or reach out to me directly at [email protected]
