Bead rolling is one of those processes that not only brings good looks to a part but more importantly big strength. And while bead rolling metal is a simple process, if all you are doing is looking for the strength side of things, it takes some practice, planning, and thought to make it look really nice. The guys and gals that are really good at it are artists with a bead roller and I’ve seen some amazing work done over the years. I’ve never owned a bead roller, so my experience using one is pretty limited but what I’ve found is that practice and a few tips and tricks can dramatically improve the results on your own project.
We’ve watched a bunch of different bead rolling videos and the best ones are those that give tips and tricks to make life easier or more accurate. Sometimes those are actual tips on working the machine and sometimes they are design tips that will help you be more successful with your projects. That’s the best combination ever, and thanks to Make It Kustom we’re going to explore both in this video about doing bead rolled floor pans in a hot rod. Check them out, tell us what you think, and get out there and be inspired in the garage.
