Tesla vs Range Rover? I’m Not Sure Edd Could Possible Think He’d Have A Chance. Edd China’s Workshop Diaries

We don’t take a lot of Edd’s shinanigans very seriously, as any real Edd fan will understand, so there wasn’t really much chance that he was going to try to race a Tesla on the street. But it turns out the reality is even funnier and arguably more relatable as we’ve all had a similar scenario happen. In this episode, you are going to see more of Edd working on the Range Rover which is in horrible shape. Remember folks that in the UK you have to get an MOT inspection to be able to drive your car. Think your state’s emissions or safety inspection, but on steroids. I’ve live in Texas and California and in both there are inspections. In truth, the inspections in Texas are kind of a bigger deal and more of a pain than California’s.

In California, they do an inspection every two years on any car newer than 1975 that is strictly emissions related. There is no other inspection. In Texas the inspection must be done each year, is emissions testing on anything 25 years or newer, and a safety inspection on any regularly registered vehicle. Classics and some other limited use vehicles are exempt. Regardless of where you live in the States, it is unlikely that your simple inspection even comes close to what they test at the MOT inspection stations in the UK. They inspect stuff like the vehicle structure, wiring, plumbing, and a variety of systems. It is not something simple to pass.

So will the Range Rover pass this MOT test? I don’t think so and either does Edd. But how many violations will it have? Watch to find out.

Only certain counties in TX require emission testing. The safety inspections are required state wide.
