In our first installment of this tech series, Indianapolis-based transmission master Jeff bradley pulled apart a 700-R4 transmission that he is overhauling for a fellow BangShift.com member. We were astounded at the sheer volume of stuff that came out of the transmission case and then immediately frightened at the prospect of having to put it all back in again.
Thankfully, Jeff knows what he’s doing and this transmission will give many more good years of service to it’s owner. If it were us the thing would be returned with a bunch of “extra parts” and would probably explode at the first inkling of throttle application.
Jeff obviously has the patience of Jobe because he has once again painstakingly documented every action that goes into the reassembly process with his camera. If you want to learn about automatic transmissions, this is an awesome place to start.
