TOP SPEED HOT RODS, History and How-To at El Mirage Dry Lake Bed With David Freiburger

David is back at it, this time with a video from El Mirage, the home of hot rodding, and a place that has befuddled many a racer. While Bonneville is the most famous land speed racing spot on the planet, it is most certainly NOT considered the hardest place to go fast. El Mirage is much harder and for so many reasons. But why listen to me when David is going to explain in the video below. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments.

Video Description:

It’s where hot rodding began, and it’s still happening today! Racing for land speed records at the Bonneville and El Mirage dry lakes is one of my passions. In this video, I’ll walk you through the hot rod history of El Mirage Dry Lake in the Mojave Desert and also give you the basics of the race procedures with the Southern California Timing Association (SCTA). I’ll show you some of the crazy hot rods, belly tanks, lakesters, and even pickup trucks that participate. If you dig my stuff, do me a favor and share it with a friend, or even a hundred friends!—D/F
