The name Lucas Oil can be found in conjunction with every kind of motorsport imaginable, and in order to provide lubricants for all these applications, the company has to do a lot of testing. At BangShift.com, we’re lucky enough to have a great relationship with the gang over at Lucas, so they let us hang out at Westech Performance Group while they test oil in race and street engines of all kinds. This week, we were there while a Dodge R5/P7 NASCAR Sprint Cup engine was being tested. How does 800-plus horsepower and 9,000-plus rpm sound to you? It sounds real good to us.

Lucas has partnerships with race teams from every conceivable sanctioning body, which explains how they got a fresh, recently qualified R5/P7 Dodge Sprint Cup Motor. We aren’t talking some mellow street version. This is the real deal, and came with headers that will make your toes curl, plus fuel lines, and a carb spacer and intake already tuned for this particular engine. The fabrication is truly amazing. Watch the video and you’ll here the screams of 358 angry inches at more than 9,000 rpm. It’s fantastic.
