The other day my son Cole asked me how you weld thick material to thin material. Of course the question was quite a bit wordier than that, and because I was welding something I didn’t want to spend time with the finer points of the explanation, so I told him it has to do with how and where you concentrate the heat and how you move the torch head. I was MIG welding when he asked, and that was what he was referencing, but the same rules apply to TIG welding like in the video below.
