By the sounds of it, the worst thing that ever happened to the Seven Points Police Department in Texas was the purchase of a new Camaro to be used as a patrol car. The officers largely hate it, the cars often sits in the parking lot, and the department has tried three times to see it via government auction.
From what we can tell the car is a V6 powered unit that is most likely a stripper on all fronts. It has the cool, but base model wheels, no fog lights, and no grill badging. They could have had a V8!
According to the story on NBCDFW.com, a Seven Points police officer interviewed about the car said, “It was a very bad purchase. All the officers complained about it because it’s not suited for police work.”
They did acknowledge that the car hauls ass though. That’s a positive. The huge negative is that the city is trying to sell it but has been struggling because they need to sell it for what they owe to avoid having the tax payers take a financial hit. The last auction ended at $24,500 and they couldn’t deal it at that price.
How much did they pay for this freaking thing?!
