The ADRL Continues to Blow Up; Columbus Race This Weekend

It’s the most under-reported story in motorsports: the ADRL has blown up like a neutron bomb over the last couple seasons. In the course of a two day event, the little drag race series that could is burying the likes of the IRL in pound-for-pound attendance.

The secret is free tickets. Hundreds of thousands of them are handed around and made available to race fans in the areas where each event takes place. Tracks can charge for parking and then make huge money on their concessions while the series sponsors get massive exposure from the huge crowds that are showing up at the races.

The ADRL owns the single-day attendance records at nearly every track they go to. A fluke is doing this at a couple tracks…they do it at all of them. No dragsters, no Funny Cars, and barely any nitro equates to a doorslammer extravaganza that is equaled by none.

The ADRL will be in Columbus, Ohio, this weekend and the local paper ran a great story on the series and it’s rise from struggling, nearly dead, also ran to the quickest rising power in the sport of drag racing.
