So by now you know that we started on our journey into the heartland of America yesterday at about 1:30 in the morning eastern standard time. If you have been following along via Glympse or on our FB page, you know that we made a couple of stops yesterday. The first stop we made was in Akron, Ohio where we visited and toured the Trick Flow cylinder head manufacturing facility with Mike Downs who is in charge of the joint. To say that we gained a new appreciation for the head business during our time there would be a massive understatement.
We’ll have a full story going on that tour next week. After that we had a bitchin’ stop at Swenson’s drive-in for food and then Craig and Nutting marveled at the Summit home store outside of Akron. From there it was due west to…. HA! You almost got me there. This morning we’ll be heading to our next stop and you’ll be able to follow us by clicking the link below to see where we end up. Any guesses before we get there?

We do have Nutting’s sleeping quarters squared away though. Here’s what he has to look forward to –
Craig has been placed on food search duties and recently informed me that we’ll save some cash with an innovative piece of technology he has tracked down –
Me? I’m the logistics end of this operation so the first thing was to get on the horn with Detroit and find out what anyone would be willing to send us for a whip. It needs to be roomy, economical, and cool. NAILED IT.
So here’s the deal. When we pull out of town on Thursday you’ll be able to see where we’re at and which direction we are heading. Total mileage on this adventure will be darned close to 2,000-2,100 so keep that in mind as you look at a map. We’ll be throwing live updates on the blog and on our FB page as well, so stay tuned. We’re going to have a good time and we want you to have a good time with us!
Is that 2,000 miles round trip or one way?
It’s not quite far enough for a Coors beer run.
