The Lambrecht Collection Auction By The Numbers – Here’s the List Of Every Car and Every Sale Price!

It was one of the most hyped, publicized, and anticipated car auctions of all time. It was a massive collection of old dealer trade ins as well as “new” cars that were close to 50 years old that had never been driven or titled before. In short, it was what every lover of old cars dreams about. The proverbial mother load. Interestingly, we were one of the first outlets to break the news of the auction and by the time the ball really got rolling, it was featured on the national news and all kinds of different media outlets. We were also the first to call about live broadcasting the thing to the world because we thought people would be ga-ga over it. At the time, the auction house told us that we could not broadcast it because they had some other video service that online bidders use and they didn’t want to mess with that. Apparently the guys from The History Channel found enough green in their pockets to make a flippin’ network television broadcast happen and not disturb stuff. Oh well, it was cool anyway.

So the auction brought out some serious money from collectors that wanted low mileage, never before titled “new” cars that were intact. The high money earner was the 1958 Chevy Cameo truck shown below. It brought home $140,000 dollars before being hammered as sold. Other notable sales were the 1978 pace car Corvette which brought $80,000, a 1956 Bel Air hard top that brought $30,000, and a 1957 Chevy 210 four door sedan that brought $37,500. While those numbers are interesting, the really neat stuff is the low dollar cars. So many of these machins sold for under or around like $2,000 it is wild. Lots of “regular people” bought old cars at this auction and will hopefully title and drive them. Either that or they are already on eBay asking three times what they bought it for. Time will tell!

      I also had a ’69 4d. Chevelle with a 307/’glide, and a healthy fungi ecosystem.

I did not have mine for 39 years.

It took me 31 years to get another Chevrolet, which I drive today.

      BTW, I paid $120 for my ’69.

Was there . Went out for what they list as a 68 GMC pick up , it was really a 1 ton cab and chassis. I was willing to go to $1500. Some nut went to$4500. It needed $1200 in tires. Anything that went for a grand or less was worth half of what it went for. Really, except for the stuff that went for super big bucks, generally everything went for double what it was worth.
