We’ve left you hanging without a good BangShift.com Parting Shift for a couple of weeks, but we’re back strong with this torque monster Buick clip. In it, we take a trip down the asphalt aisle in the backseat of a 1970 Buick Skylark that is packing 455ci of Buick power and a four gear. The revs are low, but the fun factor is high.
The way the car hooks up, it must have slicks on the back and the track must be prepped well. Although the pilot is not powershifting the car in the violent fashion we’ve shown you before, he handles the long throws, and pay attention to how long the 2-3 throw is. The grunty Buick motor is not a screamer in the rev sense obviously, but any motor that’ll shove the heavy Skylark with full interior down the strip in nearly 11 seconds is A-ok in our book.
