If you are in the process of building a wild mud bogging, world crushing trar, you can stop. Your efforts will be in vain because the ultimate vehicle of the breed is for sale on eBay. The man who looked at a big GMC truck chassis and then a 1939 Cadillac LaSalle, and then a 1947 Dodge truck nose, and decided to bolt, screw, glue, and weld them together is our kind of lunatic. This is a rare medium duty truck based trar complete with a big Eaton 2-speed axle.
While we are known world authorities on trars, we have to give credit to CarDomain.com’s Jen Dunnaway for shedding light on this truly epic machine.
First off, despite the look it gives off, this thing is a running and driving vehicle, turn key for the new owner. Based on a heavy duty GMC truck chassis there’s a 427ci gas motor, a 9-speed Eaton transmission with the aforementioned two-speed rear end, a Peterbuilt air ride seat for the driver, am old Ford Bronco seat for the passengers, and 48-inch tires.
We should mention that this baby is 2WD, but the seller claims that it is virtually unstoppable in the mud and muck. The best part of the ad reads, “My wife and I have operated it fully and WILLINGLY for the last 5-6 years.” The WILLINGLY part cracked us up.
This thing is awesome, unless of course you really like old Cadillacs, in which case it is the worst thing you’ve ever seen. You’ve got to admit though, the $3,500 Buy it Now price is worth every penny. You’d have $10,000 worth of fun in the first eight minutes!
