A Rodeo With A Double Unicorn: Getting The Turbo V8 Nissan Stagea Wound Up On The Skidpad!

Yes, it looks like a Nissan Skyline. Yes, this is a wicked performer that can and does see street duty. Outside of the forbidden fruit situation for Americans, there is nothing about this WC34 that can’t be applied to other station wagons…well, except the all-wheel-drive system. So unless you’re planning something kinky like an LS-swapped Subaru Outback, we don’t know what to tell you there. Anyways, back to the car in the picture annihilating the tires. This is the car that a good portion of the Internet knows as “Double Unicorn”. It’s running a 4.1L Nissan mill that we would’ve seen in the Infiniti Q45 towards the end of the 1990s, one that is boosted via a Garrett turbocharger, kitted out with Haltech electronics, a GM throttle body, and a flex-fuel system. And yes, the ATTESA all-wheel-drive that is the draw of the Nissan Skyline GT-R is in this wagon, too, and you can find 480 horsepower at the wheels on the dyno.

Oh, and for that Double Unicorn thing? It’s the Stagea’s grille badge: a knight’s crest with two unicorns as the feature. Look close. Or just hit play and let “Mechanical Stig” from Mighty Car Mods explain his pride and joy to you.
