Every ounce of footage we’ve seen from a Cleetus and Cars event screams unhinged fun, but this year we’re taking special note thanks to Cleetus’s recent extra-curricular activities. First, old boy goes, builds a beast of a third-gen Camaro, ships it over to Australia, and goes balls-out in the burnout pit at Summernats on the wildcard ticket. He nearly set Cooper on fire in the process, killed one engine, jammed a second one in and came right back out screaming “I’ll do it again!” and went for broke. Then, the next thing anybody knew, he straight-up buys himself a racetrack. Love or hate the persona, you have to admit that this dude knows how to live the gearhead life. Dreams that many of us have had since we were kids…and this dude is putting it all together in real life. That’s badass.

So as he gets the Freedom Factory prepared and ready for the first events, and as he continues working on mental builds and racing activities, Cleetus is still hosting his Cleetus and Cars events. This footage is from the first event at Houston and is filled with a good mix of burnout machines. The usual suspects of the Neighbor Crown Victoria and the “White Trash” GMC that James is running were present, but then you had the Vargas brothers’ Mazda REPU and JH Diesel’s Ford Super Duty, diesel and all, doing it’s best attempt at full Australian-rules burnout fun.
