We’re loving these BangShift burnout battles and judging by the vote counts each week, you are too! In an effort to keep things interesting we have another pair of wild ones this week. They couldn’t be more different in both mechanical make up or burnout execution. Also, we believe that one of these guys is actually insane, like medical grade crazy.
In this corner…
We have Jason, in a 1995 Ford F-350, long bed, crew cab, battleship of a truck. Instead of what would have been a 7.3L Powerstroke, a worked Cummins 6BT sits between the frame rails. The engine has a compound turbo setup, modified P-pump, a custom dual disc South Bend Clutch, a ZF 6-speed, and a raging hatred for rear tired. Word is, this is a 3rd gear burner right up on the 5,000RPM limiter!
In this corner….
We have the mystery man, Brian. He is in a flat black Chevelle. We think it sounds like a snotty big block, we also hinkwe see two carbs on the top of the motor. The setting for this burnout? His garage…like inside his garage! By the looks of it and the lighing, he was not facing a garage door, he was facing a wall! We’ve never met this guy, but we automatically love anyone soft enough to do this!

Now your making me regret not getting that old ford diesel truck a few years ago.
Crewcab 8 foot box just like that one but all red. Would have been a nice truck… impossible to park but a nice truck none the less.
The best part about the big Ford is that you can pile 6 adults in it, and it will still haul and tow anything you can throw behind it. But yes, it is a pain to park!
For the record, this was a 460 gas truck to start with, and is equipped with the original ZF 5speed, not a 6 speed like the description says. Averages 18mpg when empty as opposed to 10mpg (on a good day) with the 460.
That Chevelle reminds me of my neighbor who had a AMX drag car that he would warm the slicks in the driveway. He once let the brakes go and fly into the garage… then into the living room. Unfortunately, he was a renter and had to find new digs that very night.
You guys and your parking worries – change your skirt fellas! Ever heard of backing into a spot – hell I can parallel park my 21 feet of F350 Love… just takes some practice. I love that body style – I still miss my ’97.
Are you sure that’s not Seth in his chevelle?
John the problem isn’t the skirt, it’s the turning radius of a straight axle truck, I used to drive a 2002 f-250 crew cab with the 6.5 box, no problem parallel parking the thing but small parking lots where dummies parc their accords ON the line means no parking for me unless I run over his or her trunk, parking spots around made for trucks around here they’re made for compact cars, I now drive a suburban and sometimes still have a hard time parking, the advantage with trucks is you can get creative with parking spaces, especially in winter.
Kinda wimpy being as there are clearly cinder blocks in front of his tires. Ford truck was much better!
OK diesel guys…. Explain to me, it looks like he “loads” the motor and then dumps the clutch? How is he spooling the turbos before launch in a stick truck?
Andy, in order to spool the turbos, he simply starts to bring the RPMs up slowly to higher and higher speeds until it starts to build manifold pressure. Note that this truck has a modded governor so it will free-rev to about 5200rpm. At that speed, the motor will make about 20psi. Then he rolls off of the clutch, and at that point pressure builds very quick with the compound setup.
I know first hand the difficulties of parking a big truck. My daily is an 04 Super Duty Crew/short on 35s. I always park at the end of the lot where there are fewer cars. I’d never trade it for a smaller one though, my next one will be a crew/long.
um yea it did have chocks under the front only just in case my line lock didnt hold lol gotta love a garage full of smoke not to mention couldnt see the street for about 10 minutes
Still wimpy. Do it on the street like a normal person or else don’t use cinder blocks to actually be a bad ass.
its all fun dont go hatin dont see one of yours up and yes there are and will be vids on the street as well have a great day smokem if ya got’em
Sorry, had to give it to the Chevelle even though he was using chocks, the truck made more soot that tire smoke
