Now this is the good stuff! We dug up a totally awesome 13-minute long video of vintage drag racing home movies. This footage comes from a variety of places like Enid, Oklahoma, Amarillo, Texas, and San Fernando, California. Heck, there maybe one or two strips in there that we missed. The time fame appears to be the very early 1960s as you’ll see Scotty Fenn K-88 chassis, some Dragmaster tube in there as well as a heaping mound of classic door slammers, altereds, and hot rods.
Without the pioneers of the sport shown in this video, there would be no such thing as an 8,000hp Top Fuel Dragster or Funny Car. These were the guys who were modifying and mounting blowers from city buses on top of their Flatheads, Olds, and Cadillac engines to run 100+ MPH at the drags or really go wind them up on the dry lakes. Hell, you’ll even see some twin engine iron here!
Press play below to see 13-minutes of true drag racing nirvana. If you are a drag-o-phile maybe you can clue us in on any tracks we may have missed while watching!. Grab some popcorn and a Coke, watch the whole things and relive the glory days!
That is really good stuff. Lots of creatively crafted hardware out there.
