Bitchin Video: V8 Big Rigs Racing On Dirt in Australia!

A few days back we showed you a cool video of guys racing big rigs on an asphalt oval track in Canada. Unfortunately, we have since learned that the track is no longer in business, but the good news is that Canadians are not the only lunatics racing huge trucks in circles. It turns out that the Aussies are into this scene as well, but they get their rig racin’ kicks on dirt. We got tipped off to a couple of videos showing the Austrailian race trucks at work by BangShift photographer Charles Wickam, who has the same affliction of loving this stuff like we do.

Some of the models we could identify, but others we don’t know from just looking at them. Like the asphalt trucks, these babies are looking good all lowered down and ready for action. By the sounds of it, these trucks are all running gasoline engines, big blocks we’d have to guess. They have exhaust stacks but there’s not visible smoke and the note coming from the pipes certainly sounds more gasser than diesel.

Watch these babies haul the mail and slide the corners at Blue Ribbon Raceway in Australia!

Those are kinda cool but I don’t understand the #57 Ford having “Chevy Power” on the hood. I would have thought it would have a 4 valve mod motor. Or at least an FE.
