Buick V6 Build: The L67 Gets Introduced To It’s New Home!

Scotty’s L67 Buick V6 build is probably my favorite project going this year that doesn’t involve me sweating my fat ass off in the Kentucky heat and humidity. I enjoy the 3.8L supercharged mill and when it’s put into a clean Holden that’s driving the correct set of wheels instead of a Regal that’s hell-bent on ripping the front tires clean off of the wheels when caned, then it’s dream car material. Plenty of power, a semblance of fuel economy if you can behave yourself, and the unique build factor that not many would try. And of course, the benefit of the Buick six being an absolute anvil of an engine.

The final steps are being taken before the six is dropped into the Holden Berlina. Headers from Pacemaker have arrived and joy of joys, they’ll need to be massaged in order to work, then once that’s finished it’s a matter of mating transmission to engine and mating powertrain to car. Then it’s more detail work with the headers to make sure that the blown Buick can actually breathe…because why go to all the trouble of building a wicked little blower motor if you’re going to force it to exhale through a straw?
