This video is totally insane. We got tipped off to it by BangShift.com reader and chassis man extrodinaire Jon Sandahl. What you’ll see is a Honda CRX at a drag strip. It suffers what we think is a clutch explosion which blows off the front of the car. This is freaking awesome video from what we think is a drag strip in Puerto Rico. The car sounds like a pretty pissed off little unit and it was moving out pretty well before the front of it is literally vaporized! The way the parts and pieces tore through the front of the car the driver is lucky that he wasn’t shot full of holes.
Not being very versed in the front wheel drive drag racing world, we’re wondering if this is a thing that happens with frequency? One of the things that is fairly serious about this incident is the fact that we can see just how much energy is released when a clutch or flywheel fails. In a typical rear wheel drive car, all of the badness is contained inside the cockpit area but when all of those stuff is up front and it fails we get this. We’re not sure what the first words out of our mouth would be when we exited the car to see this scene but we can assure you that we’d not repeat them to our grandmother.
Count to three and duck!
Vtec kicked in Yo!
Yep way to much Vtec.
I laugh every time I see one of those annoying cars blow up!
Hey, you posted this before. Hate on Hondas all that you want, but when properly built, the performance is real. All-motor cars are running 8 seconds now from only 2.7L and FWD
Until they blow up as this video proves!
El………hahahahahahahahahaha
yea and when an american car is properly built it will run in the sixe’s BUY AMERICAN !!!
YEAH BUY AMERICAN BECAUSE THEY ARE MADE WITH CHEAP CHINESE AND JAPANESE PARTS NOW!!!!!
Let’s see a import attempt Drag Week. I bet it couldn’t last 1 day. Plus it would be totally embarrassed down the track. Let alone make the entire trip (with a trailer behind it). Lol Little 4 bangers could not handle the of abuse like AMERICAN IRON.
remember all those badass Japanese built and designed cars that dominate top fuel drag classes? yeah, me neither.
Take a ride out to Detriot and explain to the folks how the imports have enriched their lives.
and Boom goes the dynamite
