Justin Morgan’s Rambler Ambassador wagon was one of the very first Australian-style monster machines I ever saw footage of. The 440-powered Kenosha expat is a big, black tire fryer that can stripe a city block. It’s huge, it’s near deafening, and it’s absolutely bitching in a way that prior to, I couldn’t envision. I had experiences with an AMC Ambassador before, but I only saw them as a paisley-interior brick that looked like it weighed two and a half tons and wrote them off. Oh, how wrong I was. Big tires and blunt-force trauma levels of power rectify any misgivings I held for the big Ambassadors, or any other vehicle in general. And, of course, I took the dive down the rabbit hole to see if there was more to the Australasia automotive scene that the Ford vs. Holden fist-fight known as Bathurst.
Blame this car for the burnout videos, folks. This is the one that started it all.
That is a bad ass Ambassador. There is nothing like seeing a smokey burnout in the morning.
I was there that day, so cool watching Morg going for it
I remember this car!. Is it still around?. Just for clarification this is in New Zealand.
