Classic YouTube: The Most Violent Mercury Grand Marquis We Know Of – This Thing Is A Monster!

I wear my love of strange vehicles on my sleeve for all to see. I don’t care who knows or who mocks. I like old 1970s sleds, I like strange FWD beasts that are something more than just crap, and I like unloved cars that have something to offer. I’ve got more projects in my head ready to go than my bank account could ever possibly support in a hundred lifetimes, one of which involves a 1988-91 Mercury Grand Marquis. Most people are going to groan and mutter something about old man’s car and fine, that’s not too inaccurate. But I always thought the slightly rounded Marquis body actually looked kind of aggressive, in the same way that a late 1980s Chevrolet Caprice does. They are big cars. They pack old-school Ford small-blocks…no Mod motors here. They have full frames and have cop-specific suspension pieces and other neat bits available, and yes…they are comfortable inside. All in all, sounds like a win-win to me. But a Grand Marquis isn’t known for power…they were cruisers. But this is BangShift…you know very well what a breathed-on 302 or 351 can do when tuned properly, don’t you?

While digging through YouTube’s vast volumes, I came across this particular Mercury. All I know about the car is that it’s supercharged, it’s pissed off, and it’s owner has absolutely no mercy on the big beast whatsoever. Do you know this car? If so, please share some info!

  1. Rock On

You don’t always need a lot of horsepower to do impressive burnouts, a set of 4:56 gears will usually do the trick!
