We’ve seen videos of Army trucks driving while submerged before. One of the most memorable stories I’ve ever read here was showed a troop carrier several feet underwater, cruising around with divers swimming beside it. That was a staged video with the truck in nearly perfect shape and all necessary systems in place. This, however, isn’t like that. Your brain will say “Hummer H1” when looking at the truck, but don’t be so sure; no HMMWV sounds like that. Our money is that it is a Kalistratov. Whatever the truck is based off of doesn’t seem to matter as much as how well it swims, and that it does fairly well thanks to an extended exhaust and air intake system. What doesn’t seem to be present, however, is a system to keep water out of the cabin of the impromptu submarine. Something also tells us that the view from the driver’s seat isn’t the greatest, either, since it looks like the operator gets lost and/or stuck partway through the trip. I’m pretty sure the passenger screaming about something swimming against their feet didn’t help matters any.
