Cool Trucks, Cool Ads: International Scout

Cool Trucks, Cool Ads: International Scout

How about a cool, late-’60s, early-’70s ad for an International Scout? It seems that this one comes from across the pond as there’s a speaker who has a distinctly English accent and some of the scenes in the still photos look quite European.

Scouts came from a time when people didn’t buy trucks and Jeeps to cruise around in. The bought them because they had a farm, because they needed something to get them to their hunting spot, or because they needed them for work. The Scout (along with the Bronco) started to make the public aware that four-wheel-drive trucks could be had that were fun to use and practical as well. They are rare pieces to find in the eastern half of the country so this video was doubly cool for us!
