Normally, when one thinks of Australia, they picture dry, dusty outback, kangaroos, eucalyptus trees, and Uluru (or Ayers Rock, if you’re unfamiliar with the other name of the giant lump in the Northwest Territory). You wouldn’t expect a lot of rust anywhere that isn’t close to the seashore, right? Well, in the case of the Valiant station wagon that Scotty has been been bringing back from the very freaking dead, rust wasn’t just a common theme, it was a halfway to recovering this bit of Aussie Mopar before the process started a while back. Scotty has been busting his ass bringing this wagon back to life, making great friends with his welder and more rust converter than we’ve probably seen in the last decade, and by his own words, we’re looking at the last bit of rust repair before the Valiant starts going back together. That part is fantastic news. But that doesn’t mean the interior is going back into the car anytime soon…there’s a lot of replacement metal that needs to go onto the car, like the entire rear quarter skin on the driver’s side. This isn’t rust repair for the faint of heart, kids, this is major surgery. Follow along as the wagon starts getting pieced back together…what else is there to do when you’re stuck on lockdown like he is?
