SS Shaun is a search item you need to punch into YouTube. The ProCharged LSX-powered 1970 Chevelle has a reputation. It’s clean, with beautiful paintwork. It’s mean, all right: a D1SC ProChager force-feeds an LS2-based build that we aren’t even going to print numbers for, because we bet every last figure ever quoted was a poker play. The details are tidy and well-sorted, yet this car bitch-slaps just about any and everything that tries to line up next to it. It looks like it should be on the floor at SEMA in a wheel booth with a slinky little number standing next to it, yet it’s more at home with crowds waiving cash before the race goes down and getting beat on is nust the standard order of the day.
Love it, hate it, whatever your feelings on the Chevelle, it doesn’t matter: this is a machine built to perform, and it does just that all day long while looking like a show car. Would it be cooler if it looked a bit rattier, like back when it was in yellow primer or when it was cleaned up and sprayed all black? That’s up to you. Would you like it better if it looked like another restored Chevelle Super Sport? Doesn’t matter either. Appreciate the car for what it is and what it is capable of.
