If you follow the NHRA’s Get Screened America Pro Mod series, there’s not doubt you are familiar with the name Peter Farber. He runs the immaculate Dodge Charger Daytona Pro Mod that vaulted into the headlines after Rickie Smith crashed into it on the top end at Bristol this season. He quickly had the car fixed and was back in action lickety split. Prior to becoming a Pro Mod hero, Farber owned what is probably the coolest race truck ever. The piece was a 1972 Dodge D100 truck with a body made of carbon fiber, a blown, alcohol burning Hemi, and a penchant for heading from guard wall to guard wall on every pass.

Prior to having the carbon fiber tube, chassis truck, Farber ran an actual steel bodied D100, way down into the 7.30s with an alky Hemi backed with a Lenco. The truck was the original shop truck for the family towing business that eventually became Pete’s daily driver as a kid. He continued to modify it until it was a seven second bulldozer! TJ and Sons Towing was started decades ago by Pete’s dad. Peter and his family have since grown the business into one of the premier towing and recovery outfits in Massachusetts, allowing him to get ever more insane on the drag strip.

Since the Pro Mod occupies his time now, the carbon fiber truck sits idle, waiting to make a triumphant, tail wagging, half way out of control return. Until that happens, relive the fun with this video, taken a few years back at the Joliet NMCA event.
