Drag Video: The Lingenfelter Flat Plane Turbo Camaro Goes 8.71-162mph!

We’ve showed you the Lingenfelter flat plane crank engine on the dyno naturally aspirated, making about 700hp. We then showed it to you on the dyno with a turbo making over 1,000hp. As the guys at Lingenfelter know, dyno racing sucks so they bolted the engine into a Camaro, just like we predicted and turned it loose at Muncie Dragway.

The results were certainly impressive (although has anyone ever bee underwhelmed by an LPE effort?), with the car running deep into the eight second range and solidly into the 160mph range. These numbers were very solid for the first time the car hit the race track with with more suspension and engine tuning, we’re guessing that the 8.50s are a short trip away. At only 358ci, that is some really impressive stuff!

Press play below to see that dyno proven engine really go to work on the strip. Dig the weirdo sounds from the flat plane crank equipped engine!

  1. Speedy

those SMOKIN’ HOT factory Cobra Jets aren’t the size (and weight) of a small house and can’t transform into Bumblebee . . . .

Ordinary stuff like this is a big deal to true believers in the “LESS” engine faith.

    Zzzzzzzzz (crickets chirp)
