Well this is totally nuts. Eric Koll is the owner and driver of this wild Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8. As best we can tell, the machine is powered by a stroker modern hemi that displaces somewhere around 440ci and it runs deep into the tens with no nitrous, supercharger, or turbos. Again, taking a guess, we’re thinking that Koll has managed to get some weight out of it but the beast still has to weigh in somewhere up around 5,000lbs on a good day. There are a bunch of videos of the Jeep smacking cars around at PBIR, up at Atco, and in other places around the country. It holds the unofficial record as the quickest NA Jeep in the country (and probably the world, but we’re guessing again).
The first video is a look at run where the monster picked the front end WAY up and carried it for damned near 100′ before landing hard under throttle. The good thing is that this is a big Jeep truck because where puny race car stuff would have folded up, the Jeep just shrugged it off and kept right on trucking into the 10.50s! The second video shows that same lap but with a roof mounted camera giving you a view of almost exactly what Koll saw when the Jeep went reaching for the stars (skip to 5:20 so you are right at the action on that one!).
We love guys that make big stuff fast and this is no exception. The late model Hemi does not get the love that the LS or Coyote engines get, but videos like this sure do prove its potential!
