Dyno Video: A Cross-Rammed Chevy 302 Singing on the Pump

After fantasizing about owning Dave Strickler’s Camaro, we went hunting around the web to find some beautiful music being made by one of the little 302s that Strickler abused. We found a kick ass piece of dyno footage that features a Chevy 302 but with the twist of a cross ram on top instead of a single carb.

Adding to the goodness of this video is that there are multiple pulls made with ever climbing rpm ceilings. According to the video, this engine is intended for use in a vintage Trans-Am racer. That would explain the 7,000 rpm top end. If this were a drag race motor, 7,000 rpm would be a mere stepping stone on the way to nine grand plus.

Anyway, close your eyes and envision another Camaro, this one driven by Mark Donohue pulling full bore down the back straight of Watkins Glenn in 1968.
